Meyers Downtown Cafe in Lake Tahoe (California)

Pretty delicious from what I tasted. The owners are fabulous. I found something strange in my potato cake though. It looked like a tendon trimming from steak and freaked me out so I couldnt finish my meal. 😔 Also they only take cash or check...just a heads up.

Downtown cafe is a staple in Meyers. I have been coming here for 16 years and adored the previous owners Barbara and Billy. Now it's under new ownership and I have to say I will be coming for many more years. Try the chicken fried steak or parmesan chicken. Great food and a great atmosphere make this a great restaurant for our little town. And they now accept cards for payment

I used to love this place, but it's under new ownership and I suspect that's why the food was terrible when I ate there last weekend. We ordered eggs benedict and huevos rancheros. The huevos rancheros were cold and undercooked. The hollandaise sauce was not good.

We absolutely love the downtown Cafe. Billy owns the place and he's such a nice guy and a good character. The food is awesome. Everyone is so nice. We go there every time we go to Tahoe. It's a tradition and has been for years. This is one of our favorite restaurants for breakfast. I usually get the tuna melt & it's beyond delicious. Great people, great food, great prices. They'll bring water and dog treats to your dog. I absolutely recommend downtown Cafe.

Just visited this great little cafe for the first time! The new owner Kara is amazing!! Food was perfect, sat outside in the warm sun and enjoyed a great meal!! A must eat on the way out of town!

A Tahoe local favorite recently sold. At first glance the much needed clean up and update to the cafe looks great. I am sure there are other updates needed. Now on to the food ... the menu stayed much the same so I ordered my all time favorite the turkey Ortega sandwich with fresh cut fries. The sandwich looked the same but it didn’t taste the same. They are using some cheap turkey lunch meat so I would say skip it. My mom and sister ordered burgers and they gave them two thumbs up. The fries however looked cooked but were a bit undercooked. Over all we have an enjoyable lunch and wish the new owner all the best... next time I will try the burger!

Just ordered the classic club with fries, fries burnt, would rather not have the american bought from store in plastic wrap cheese on my sandwich.. For $9.00 you can do better. Also ordered my soda and lunch to go, soda i got was a diet. eww gross. please make sure you ask customer first if they want diet soda.VERY DISAPPOINTED..Because i love eating breakfast there.

Very cozy with a super friendly staff! Breakfast was very good and portions were nice, not too big. Only heads-up is that it is cash/check only.

It was better under prior owners, our fries were soaked in grease. Past owners were always working, today only teenagers.

Been here several times when in town. We make sure to stop in. The owner is from Tennessee I believe and makes it a fun for all experiemce. Real southern hospitality here. Sweet tea is made from scratch by owner and is fantastic. Food cooked spot on.

Best place for breakfast in Meyers hands down. The proprietor Billy is the greatest. Always has a smile on his face. Food is great and they brew their famous tea every day.

Let me say it like this. Before I could put the food to my mouth, I was already drooling. Seriously, I had to wipe mouth with a napkin. But I took a bite and dear Lord, it was friggin good..sooo good. We thoroughly enjoyed ourself. The owner who served us was so fantastic. Thank you so much for awesome food and awesome service.

Loved it for breakfast, clean, fast, friendly. Great menu choices, parking and prices. Excellent coffee. Has both patio and inside dinning. I had eggs with an Italian sausage patty, fantastic.

Great service. I like the shaded outdooe seating. The feels and location is nice. Has parking too but the French toast is a bit drying. Not recommended. Ice coffee ans sweet tea is good.

Not easy to recognize from the road, but so worth finding it! Our godfather huevos rancheros and breakfast quesadilla were outstanding, as were our servers...going back :)!

Perfect meal at a reasonable price before heading into Desolation Wilderness for a backpacking trip. Quality home made food made by delightful folks. Very personal.

Nice place

Whatever you think you're looking for, this place is it. We found it online, saw how amazing it was, and it was at least 900x better than we could have imagined. I got a head rush from how tasty and hearty this food was. Everything was so simple but extremely flavorful because of how clean and well picked/made the ingredients were. And the STAFF were some of the nicest people I have ever been helped by. They were exceedingly sweet and courteous. More attentive than you could ever want without being annoying - PERFECT. They have everything from delicious and unique breakfast dishes to wonderful lunch and dinners. Look no further. Seriously, I will find you. Brilliant opportunity to come here if you're in town. I will specifically and viciously seek out this place again if I ever come back here. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Worst eggs Benedict I've ever had, that was Not hollandaise sauce. Service isnt good. Go elsewhere if you can.

Tasty classic breakfast at a great price. Stopped on our way out of Tahoe and everyone was amazed by this place. I recommend you try it out. 👍🏼
